This course introduces students to the fundamentals of mine surveying. Basic measurement and calculation techniques are used to measure distances, elevation changes, and coordinates. The principles of measurement theory, as well as error propagation and analysis are explored. The course will include a detailed review of modern survey technologies such as total stations, LiDar, and Global Navigational Surveying System (GNSS) mapping, and their applications being used in industry today.
